Artist’s statement
It is a wonderful thing to stand at the base of a thundering waterfall. Takakkaw is a Cree word meaning magnificent or spectacular. The landscape I have enjoyed the past year could only be described in this way! Pounding water is fed by the Daly Glacier and spills over the Waputik Range to find its way to the Kicking Horse River some 380 meters below. Other images are inspired by a camping trip to the Cypress Hills and a visit to the Gustav Klimt exhibit at the National Gallery of Ottawa
